Meet all of our new congressional district candidates for C.D. 9. This congressional district was re-drawn by the Tennessee Legislature May 7, 2026 to include the southern portion of Shelby County, including Collierville south of Poplar Avenue.

About the event
This event will be moderated by Van D. Turner, Jr., former NAACP Memphis Branch President and former Shelby County Commission member. All 10 declared candidates, 6 of whom are from Shelby County, have all been invited to this forum. Questions related to C.D. 9 and of interest to its citizens will be asked of all candidates. Current elected officeholders will be acknowledged. Other candidates for elected office Aug. 6 or Nov. 3, 2026 will be allowed to introduce themselves during, and meet voters before and after, the event. RSVP requested, but not required.
